My Qualifications:

Global and regional politics and human rights are my main beats, but I am always interested in covering science and local news. I am fluent in English, Russian and Azerbaijani and have a working knowledge of Turkish. I am handy with technology and filming equipment (DSLR cameras, sound recorders), and fluent with editing programs such as Final Cut (Express and X) and Adobe Premiere. I am an active social media user, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN, Storify, Pinterest, Youtube, Vimeo, Wordpress and more.

Other activities:

I participated in and moderated a number of conflict resolution conferences and was one of 16 bloggers from all over the world to be invited to the Bloggertour ‘10 in Berlin, organized and funded by the Foreign Office of Germany. I covered Mashable's Social Good Summit in 2013 and 2014 for YPFP and +SocialGood in New York City. I spoke at RightsCon ’14 organized by Access Now in San Francisco on Digital Surveillance in Azerbaijan.
